The medium-sized KPS Group is one of the market leaders in the field of electrical safety testing of equipment, machines and lifts as well as the installation and testing of e-charging stations. When the Hirschberg-based company went into insolvency in 2015, Topp acquired the company throught an asset deal. The majority of the approximately 167 jobs at the company, now operating as KPS Prüfservice GmbH, are retained, marking the beginning of a successful change strategy.
The measures to achieve this:
- A high transaction speed, tailored to the insolvency situation and combined with high transaction security for the insolvency administrator
- Comprehensive immediate measures to stabilise the entire business operations in collaboration with other companies in the group
- Strategic reorganisation and improvement of processes in the areas of sales, service, administration and recruitment
- Implementation of a new ERP system customised for KPS
The result: a turnover of around 10.5 million euros and a loss in the millions at the time of the takeover in 2015 turned into a turnover of 28 million euros in 2022 - and above-average earnings compared to the rest of the industry.
»The cooperation with the shareholders is characterised by a high degree of trust. The decisive factor for the corporate success of KPS Prüfservice is above all the joint focus on realising the goals we have set ourselves. By working together with Topp Holdings, we not only generate ideas through mutual exchange, but also receive collegial support, especially in the area of financing issues.«
